Media Library

Upload, organize, and assign product images using the centralized Media Library.

Overview

The Media Library in Stogly provides a single place to:

• Upload and store product images
• Organize media files for easy retrieval
• Assign images to products and categories
• Optimize images automatically for fast loading
• Manage all visual assets across your catalog

Uploading Images

Upload from the Media Library

1. Navigate to Settings > Media Library
2. Click + Upload
3. Select one or more image files from your computer, or drag and drop them into the upload area
4. Images are uploaded and processed automatically
5. Once complete, thumbnails appear in the library grid

Upload from a Product

1. Open any product in Products > Product List
2. Scroll to the Images section
3. Click + Add Image
4. Choose Upload New to add a file, or Select from Library to pick an existing image
5. Uploaded images are saved to the Media Library automatically

Supported Formats

Maximum file size: 10 MB per image.

Managing Your Media Library

Browsing and Searching

• Use the Search bar to find images by filename
• Filter by Upload Date or Assigned/Unassigned status
• Switch between Grid View and List View for different layouts

Image Details

Click any image to view its details:

Renaming and Deleting

• To rename, click the image, edit the Filename field, and save
• To delete, select one or more images and click Delete — a confirmation dialog shows which products would lose their image

Assigning Images to Products

Set a Product Image

1. Open the product in Products > Product List
2. In the Images section, click + Add Image
3. Choose Select from Library
4. Browse or search the Media Library
5. Click the desired image to assign it
6. The first image assigned becomes the Primary Image shown in lists and on the POS

Reorder Images

• Drag and drop images within the product's image section to reorder them
• The first image in the list is always the primary image

Remove an Image from a Product

1. Hover over the image in the product's image section
2. Click the X button
3. The image is removed from the product but remains in the Media Library

Image Optimization

Stogly automatically optimizes uploaded images:

• Resizing — large images are resized to appropriate dimensions for web display
• Compression — files are compressed to reduce load times without visible quality loss
• Thumbnail generation — smaller versions are created for use in product lists and POS displays
• Format conversion — when beneficial, images are served in WebP format for faster delivery

No manual action is required — optimization happens on upload.

Tips & Best Practices

• Use consistent image dimensions — square images (e.g., 800x800 px) work best for product grids
• Name files descriptively — use names like blue-sneakers-front.jpg instead of IMG_4521.jpg for easier searching
• Clean up unused images — periodically filter by "Unassigned" and remove images no longer linked to any product
• Upload high-quality originals — the system handles compression, so start with the best quality available
• Assign images before publishing — products with images perform significantly better on sales channels
